This collection has been published twice as a book - once in early 1990s and then in early 2000. The collection was published in both English and Dari . This work was orinignally written in mid-1980s by Ustad Pazhwak while he was recuperating at the Sibley Hospital, Washington, D.C. A friend apparently delivered a copy of William Pitt Root’s poem to Ustad Pazhwak to read.

Pazhwak was inspired by William Pitt Root’s praise of the Afghan resistance against the Soviet occupation and responded to his message. The response reflects a mix of Pazhwak’s passion, pain, frustration and warnings at a time when religious fanatics were promoted to the forefront of the Afghan resistance movement. He feared the terrible consequences of this policy and anticipated bloodshed among the mujahideen groups and the rise of a fanatic regime in Afghanistan.

Introduction in Dari by Barmak Pazhwak in reference to a book “A Woman” published in Kabul in December 2006. The book consisted of two short stories, A Woman and Wanderer, in Dari and their English translations by Farhad Pazhwak.
